Read more about me and feel free to call or email anytime if you think we’d be a good fit working together.

I am a licensed professional counselor working with individuals who are going through transitions or who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed in their current roles or circumstances. I have advanced training in working with trauma of various types and in helping individuals work through and learn from challenges related to pregnancy or parenting. My role as a therapist is to be a collaborative, steady partner in the therapy process. I encourage listening to your own voice and gaining confidence as you navigate toward emotional well being. Together, we will work through your concerns and reasons for seeking help and support.

My approach is mindfulness-based, meaning that I will help you deepen your awareness of the specific ways you experience yourself, others, and the world around you. I assist people to examine the way that unsatisfying patterns and beliefs have affected their lives and then move beyond them; building on existing strengths and discovering new choices. I also draw on a variety of additional modalities including interpersonal neurobiology, integrative trauma treatment, and narrative therapy.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2001 in a variety of settings, including wilderness therapy, residential treatment, outpatient counseling clinics and integrative health care centers. My experience includes adults, adolescents, couples and families. Along with my experience in counseling, I am a 230 hour certified yoga instructor and have had the pleasure of integrating yoga into mental health and substance abuse treatment programs state wide and nationally. I have a deep respect for the interplay between mental, emotional and physical health and the healing process.

I hold a Masters degree Counselor Education, with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Portland State University. I have been a licensed Professional counselor since 2013. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings and am currently offering individual counseling to adults.

My growth as a therapist has been influenced by the work of Dan Siegel’s Interpersonal Neurobiology, Bessel van der Kolk’s work on trauma, Linda Curran’s integrative model of trauma treatment, Peter Levine and Somatic Experiencing, Richard Schwartz’ Internal Family Systems model, Brené Brown’s work on vulnerability and shame, John Bowlby’s theory of attachment along with Amir Levine’s work on adult attachment, The Gottmans’ relationship work, Ron Kurtz’ Hakomi Method, and others.

I have received additional specialty training through the META institute in the Hakomi method, with Linda Curran and her model of integrative trauma treatment and EMDR, and in the area’s of Motivational interviewing, Yoga and the treatment of trauma, and LGBTQ competence.

My greatest (and cutest) teachers are my children, two creative and spirited little boys, who have taught me about the depths of love, humor, hard work, and the peaks and valleys that is being human.

I’m so glad you’re reaching out.
